Getting Ready for Christmas

I think I'm getting everyone in the Christmas spirit! I was singing "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas...only a hippopotamus will do!" all weekend. I caught both Hunter and Jason singing the song too!

Friday night I met Jason and Hunter in Fayetteville at Barnes and Noble. They were reading The Polar Express and having cookies and hot chocolate!

This weekend we went to the Botanical Gardens. Santa was there!! Hunter got to talk to Santa and ride a train. They had a huge Christmas train display that was really cool. We also got to walk around the Gardens. I can't wait to go back there in the spring! It will be so beautiful with all the flowers blooming.

We also went to the square in Fayetteville to look at the Christmas lights! Whoa! There were tons! It was FREEZING that night so we weren't there very long. Hunter did get to ride a camel though. AND we saw Santa's reindeer!! I hope they get enough food in their bellies because I'm ready for them to get to our house on Christmas Eve!!

Thanksgiving Break

I love working at a school! It means I get breaks for summer, Christmas, spring, and this week...Thanksgiving! I got to spend ALL week with my boys! We took on a huge project this week....taking the wallpaper off the walls in the kitchen and painting the walls. We didn't really think that project through since we were having Thanksgiving dinner at the house!! So, we were busy little workers! It took us 2 days to take the wallpaper off and 2 days painting. BUT, we worked so hard and got it finished just in time for Thanksgiving dinner! It looks so fabulous!!

We had a delicious dinner! Our Thanksgiving dinner menu: Turkey, ham, beans, stuffing, mashed potatoes, macaroni, sweet potatoes, salad, and rolls. Yumm!!

We also starting putting up Christmas decorations! It looks like the North Pole in the house! 7 trees are beautifully decorated at the house! We also decorated the outside of the house and it looks great!! I can't wait to spend Christmas with these boys!!

The "Family Tree" we put all of our decorations from childhood and meaningful decorations on it. It was my grandmothers tree that she had in her house.

Tree in the Living Room...well one of them!

Branson

I have a lot of blogging to catch up on...

We went to Branson for the weekend! We stayed at the Indoor Water Park/hotel. It was so much fun! At the water park, there is a HUGE bucket of water that dumps on everyone about every 5 minutes! It is so funny to watch everyone run to try to get water dumped on them...when they are playing in the water the whole time! It was also fun because there were lots of opportunities to dump/spray water all over kids!

We also went to the Christmas Dixie Stampede! We had great seats! Front row! It was the North Pole vs the South Pole...we were the North Pole and we lost!! We had so much fun though! We also got to see the horses that were in the show before it started.

Fishing Weekend!

Jason and I went crappie fishing on Saturday. I caught the first fish and the biggest fish! Jason caught the biggest...but just barely! It was so much fun! I was putting my line in the water and pulling fish out like it was nothing! I told Jason that I get it from my daddy! I learned all my techniques from him! On Sunday we went fishing with Hunter. Again...I caught the first fish, the biggest fish, and the most fish....oh...and the only fish! It was a slow fishing day...I think I caught all of them on Saturday. We had fun though! Also, we cooked hot dogs on the bank! It was a beautiful day on Beaver Lake! I love hanging out with those boys!

Halloween

Happy Halloween!
Jason, Hunter, and I went to Hunter's school for a Halloween bash! Hunter got to play games and get candy! Hunter drew a smiley face on a pumpkin and Jason carved it out for him. Jason and I worked on our pumpkins when Hunter went to sleep. I carved a Yoda pumpkin and Jason carved a Darth Vador pumpkin. It took so long!! Seriously, like 3 hours! It was fun!
On Halloween, Hunter went trick-or-treating around Grandma Sue's neighborhood! Grandma Sue was dressed up like a witch when we got to her house.
Hunter really liked the Darth Vador pumpkin...since he was Darth Vador for Halloween!

My birthday

Did I mention I am the luckiest girl in the whole wide world? Well, I am! I came home on my birthday and had these on my doorstep from my prince!

weekend of October 16th and 17th

We went to the War Eagle Craft fair this weekend. It was so awesome! It is considered the granddaddy of craft fairs, and boy were they right! There were hundreds of vendors there! I was in Christmas heaven! There were so many Christmas crafts! It was amazing to see how people could create such detailed art! I wish I had that talent!

We also went to the corn maze in Cave Springs. It was much more difficult than it seems.... They give you a map and send you on your way...we didn't even make it half way through the maze before we turned around to find our way out! You couldn't tell from the ground, but the maze was in the shape of a Razorback. It was over 5 acres of twist and turns and dead ends everywhere!

Happy Fall!!

Happy Fall Everyone! I am a pretty lucky girl! I have always wanted hay bales in the front yard for fall because I think they are fun and welcoming. This weekend Jason suprised me with this in the front yard!

Zip Line!!

This weekend Jason and I went to the Buffalo River to try out the new zip line. I was a little scared at first, but after the first time, it was so much fun!! You just have to remember to keep your feet up when approaching the platform!
The view from the last zip was amazing! I wanted to stay up there longer, but we had to repel down from the platform...I wasn't very excited about that part!

There were 8 other people on the zip with us. They were judging how we landed on the platform....Jason beat my score!! I was kicking a lot because I didn't want to go to the platform backwards!

Walk-a-thon and BBBBQ

Jason, Hunter, and I walked in the ALS Walk-a-thon in Springdale. ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. I learned a little bit more about Lou Gehrig's at the walk. It is a very rare disease, only 2 in 100,000 people a year are diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's each year. Jason's father was diagnosed with ALS. I'm so glad we could do the walk together. It was a lot of fun.

Later that day, we went to the Bikes, Blues, BBQ in Fayetteville. That was lots of fun! There were so many motorcycles in Fayetteville that weekend! They say there are an extra 400,000 people in town that weekend! I tried counting the motorcycles, but I lost count at about 150...

Camping

This past weekend Jason and I went on a short camping trip. We slept in a tent made for 6 people to sleep in! It was awesome. Of course we had lots of smores and Jason fixed a yummy breakfast for us!

After we went camping, we ran to the farmer's market to pick up some veggies, but there weren't very many stands left by the time we got there. It was quiet in Fayetteville though! Arkansas was playing Alabama and I'm pretty sure the whole city was at the stadium! We went to Gusano's for some pizza and watched the game. We had a great weekend together!

Jason and I started a list of things we wanted to do together. Everytime we think of something new, we add it to the list! It's so much fun to look at the list each week and pick what we are going to do together the next weekend. Some things on the list are things we like to do together, liking going to Lowe's. We could do that everyday! Some things are things I might only do once...like sky diving!

Livin' for the weekends!

Owen's Birthday Bash

My little Owen turned 6 this week. I don't know where time has gone. He was just born! We had a party at a pizza place in Cabot. He got lots of Transformer stuff...I really need to catch up on all this kid stuff because I don't even know how to work one of those things!
His transformer cake had some powerful icing...it was all over our teeth and lips!!
Of course the Razorback game was on, so we were forced to participate in Hog Calling and all that jazz. Owen got a Hog nose as one of his presents and everyone was forced to put it on.

After the party, we went to Fun Factory to let the kids play a little more. Then off to the playground we went! Tried to wear those kids out that day. We had kites for the kids to fly, but the adults did most of the flying. We looked like a bunch of kids out there. Jason was a kite flying super hero...I could barely keep the thing in the air. Who knew flying kites was such a workout?! I just ran around making it look like my kite was in the air!

My New Life

Ok, so everyone knows that I got divorced this summer. I am starting a new life, so I thought I would start a new blog too.

When I was a little girl, my daddy always said that I was a princess. I'm pretty sure he was right. One time he told me he has only been wrong 2 times in his life, and that wasn't one of them. For everyone who was wondering the meaning of the name Sarah, here it is: The girl's name Sarah /s(a)-rah/ is of Hebrew origin, and the meaning of Sarah is "princess." So, that proves it! I am a princess!
Not only am I a princess, but I think I deserve to be treated like a princess.

So now to why I feel like a princess...

When I was a little girl, my brother had friends that were over at the house ALL THE TIME. One of these friends was Jason. My brother and Jason met in Kindergarten. They were in boy scouts together and pretty much grew up together. Not only did they hang out together, they got in trouble together. I was always following Jason around. My brother and all of his friends (including Jason) used to call me squallbag. A very annoy nickname that I hated. Jason was never mean to me (unlike my mean brother), he was a sweet guy that everyone loved. When I was about 8 I told my mother that I loved him and that I was going to marry him. Fast forward 20 years....

Jason I were both married before, and then we were both single. Yeaa!! I decided I wanted to see him and so I went to Springdale to see him. I was nervous... thought it might be wierd that I used to follow him around and thought he might think of me as "squallbag." It wasn't like that at all. He was still just as sweet. I continued to go up and visit him. We had so much fun together! He is amazing.

Not too long ago, Jason found this letter to Santa in his stuff. I probably wrote it when I was around 8. Note about letter: My brother was in the army, I lived in Ward, Kelli was at school in Fayetteville, Amy was one of their friends, Jason drove like a maniac.

Jason has a son named Hunter. Hunter is just the cutest little thing! He started kindergarten this year. He is the same age as Owen. We love to have Brother, Kelli, and the kids all together and hang out! At first, my brother was a little weirded out about the thought of his little sister and his best friend dating. I'm pretty sure he thinks differently now. He told me that we were perfect for each other.

So, the name of my blog-My Princess Kind of Life- comes from really feeling like a princess again. He makes me feel so special, loved, and needed.

Since I started this blog after a lot of fun things Jason and I have done together...here are a few pictures to catch you up.

I kissed a toad......and got a prince!!!!

We spent a week on a house boat this summer. Here are some pics
